It is completely understandable that you may not have enough time to build your own survival backpack. If this is the case, there are still ready-made kits that could provide you with some basic emergency necessities.
The main reason I started this informational blog was because I had a hard time choosing a ready-made emergency kit. I found that kits had some items I wanted, but would be missing other items. Eventually, I did buy and though I found a kit that had close to all of the items I wanted, the quality was not to a level I would have preferred. This is particularly concerning given that you don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you might not have full 100% confidence in the build and strength of your items. Because ready-made kits are mass produced and are priced to make it affordable for a typical family, they have varying levels of quality. This doesn’t mean all ready-made kits are bad quality, but it is helpful to be aware of the variation.

I know of instances where people have bought a ready-made kit, but replaced or added additional items. Furthermore, these ready-made kits were supplementary to their main, custom survival backpack / emergency kit. These ready-made kits are also great for your car, storage, or vacation home. Typically, ready-made kits come in 2-person or 4-person options, even single person options are available; our recommendations focus on the primary.
